Visit the National Crafts Museum if you haven't already!

Delhi is full of lovely surprises! In the last two years, I have made some amazing art and culture discoveries in the capital, some of which have made me feel like a tourist in my own city. Us Delhiites are really lucky that way: as many tourist destinations there are around the city, there's plenty to explore within its own borders. One of my favourites being the National Crafts Museum near Pragati Maidan. In this post, I am sharing a few pictures I clicked during my very first visit to the museum.
The museum provides an elaborate glimpse into various Indian art forms and its rich architectural and historical beauty. The highlights for me were the tribal wall painting on display from states like Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. I was also lucky enough to witness a powerful 'Chhau' performance {a folk dance form of Orissa} that beautifully depicted the climax of the Ramayana. I couldn't help but indulge in a little retail therapy at the temporary flea inside the museum. There is also a stunning village complex with various rural elements which makes it a great spot for photography enthusiasts. {If you remember, we shot this post in the same complex}.

After feeding your eyes, head to Cafe Lota for some soul-satisfying food. The indo-fusion menu is quite interesting, the service, super fast and their Palak Patta Chaat is only the best one in Delhi. They have a lovely ambience and frankly, it is one of the best spots in the city to catch up with an old friend over some great food!
Getting there: Metro is the most convenient option. The nearest station is Pragati Maidan.

Timings: Tuesday to Sunday, 10AM-5PM. Closed on Mondays.
